Children & Youth Ministries
At Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, we are committed to helping children and students grow in faith, build friendships, and experience God’s love in a safe and welcoming community. Our programs are designed to meet students where they are, with age-appropriate learning, meaningful relationships, and opportunities to serve.
We offer ministry for every stage. Please read our program descriptions below or contact us (select Education Director) to learn more.
Wednesdays, 6:30–7:30 p.m.
Faith Village is a faith-based program held Wednesday evenings during the school year for kids in Preschool through Sixth Grade.
Kids will experience stories of faith found in the Bible. They will reinforce those stories and Bible points through various hands-on activities and end their time together praying for one another. We celebrate every child and the unique way that God created them and look forward to sharing Jesus with them!

Wednesdays, 6:30–7:30 p.m.
A supportive environment where students can explore their faith, ask questions, and build strong connections with peers and leaders. Ryan and Annie Pawol are the junior high youth group leaders. For questions or more information, please use our Contact Form and select Education Director.
Wednesdays, 7:30–8:30 p.m. We will meet September 9, 2026-April 28, 2027, but will not meet on October 21, November 25, December 23, December 30, February 17, and March 10.
A welcoming place for high school students to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and explore what it means to follow Christ.
Through Bible study, conversation, service projects, meals, and special events, students have opportunities to ask questions, encourage one another, and find ways to serve God and others.

Vacation Bible School is one of the highlights of our summer! Each year, children from our community come together for a week of faith, fun, music, learning, and friendship.
Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church partners with St. John the Baptist Catholic Church to offer a shared VBS experience for our community. This partnership allows us to welcome more children, share resources, and build connections across our churches.

Rainforest Falls: Exploring the Nature of God
Children will discover God’s love through Bible stories, music, games, crafts, and hands-on activities in a fun and encouraging environment. Vacation Bible School is free and open to the community.

Theme announcement
Children enjoy a week filled with Bible stories, music, crafts, games, snacks, science activities, and hands-on learning in a fun, welcoming environment. Each year features a new theme that helps children discover God's love in creative and memorable ways.
Our 2026 theme was Rainforest Falls: Exploring the Nature of God.
VBS is typically offered for:
Ages: Children who are 4 years old by the first day of VBS through students who have completed 5th grade
When: Early June, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
Location: Schwertley Hall (215 N. 13th Street, Fort Calhoun)
Specific dates and registration information are announced each spring.
Vacation Bible School is made possible by many volunteers. Whether you enjoy working directly with children, preparing crafts or snacks, decorating, or helping behind the scenes, there is a place for you.
Volunteer sign-up information will be posted here when planning for our next VBS begins.
Our community helps keep Vacation Bible School free for all families through donations, fundraisers, and volunteer support.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2026 fundraiser by providing and serving desserts for the Fish Fry at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. We are grateful for the generosity of our congregation and community.
